Scientists
rapped for 'tasteless' mice experiment
Scientists who blasted drugged mice
with loud dance music in
a "tasteless" experiment have received an official
Home Office reprimand, it was revealed today.
Seven mice forced to listen to The
Prodigy after taking a strong form of amphetamine or "speed"
died while others suffered brain damage.
Animal rights campaigners were outraged by the research, described
by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV)
as "tasteless and horrific".
Today, a year after the results were first published in the
journal NeuroReport, the Home Office confirmed it had taken
"infringement action" against the Cambridge University
team led by Dr Jenny Morton ......

his don't-call-this-a-comeback album The Chronic 2001, Dr.
Dre declares " I just took some Ecstasy/Ain't no tellin
what the side effects could be". In The
Wire's Christmas issue, El-P of underground hip hop outfit Company
Flow listed among his 1999 highlights trying Ecstasy "for
the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and
eighth time". And gangsta rappers
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's latest album BTNH Resurrection contains
the song "Ecstasy," inspired by the group's recent
introduction to MDMA. The chorus features some
of Bone Thugs private slang for the E sensation:
"I feel so 'Z'/I feel so ziggety ziggety ziggety/Cause
I'm floatin' in ecstasy.." Bizzy's so impressed with the
"new shit" touted by their weed dealer that he even
wishes Eazy E, Bone Thugs's deceased mentor,

Salvinorin
A: A potent naturally occurring nonnitrogenous opioid selective
agonist
Salvia divinorum, whose main active ingredient is the neoclerodane
diterpene Salvinorin A, is a hallucinogenic plant in the mint
family that has been used in traditional spiritual practices
for its psychoactive properties by the Mazatecs of Oaxaca, Mexico.
More recently, S. divinorum extracts and Salvinorin A have become
more widely used in the U.S. as legal hallucinogens. We discovered
that Salvinorin A potently and selectively inhibited 3H-bremazocine
binding to cloned opioid receptors. Salvinorin A had no
significant activity against a battery of 50 receptors, transporters,
and ion channels and showed a distinctive profile compared
with the prototypic hallucinogen lysergic acid diethylamide.
Functional studies demonstrated that Salvinorin A is a potent
opioid agonist at cloned opioid receptors expressed in human
embryonic kidney-293 cells and at native opioid receptors expressed
in guinea pig brain. Importantly, Salvinorin
A had no actions at the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor,
the principal molecular target responsible for the actions of
classical hallucinogens. -

Gingko
biloba fails memory test
Gingko biloba has no beneficial effect on memory in healthy
older people, according to a US study.
The popular herbal supplement is extracted from leaves
of the gingko biloba tree. It is widely believed to
enhance memory and concentration, and sales in the US alone
exceed £200 million each year.
"Many of our older patients were taking gingko and wanted
to know if it was of any benefit. But although there had been
dozens of trials showing beneficial effects, they all had serious
shortcomings. We decided to carry out the first scientifically
rigorous study," said Paul Solomon who led the study at
Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Solomon's team studied 230 adults over the age of 60 who were
physically and mentally healthy. They found no memory
improvements after six weeks of daily gingko supplementation.

of Ayahuasca-using Church
Members of the ayahuasca-using religious group known as the
Uniao Do Vegetal (UDV), won a major legal victory on Monday
(August 12, 2002), when a federal court ruled that the group’s
use of ayahuasca was likely protected under the Religious
Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). Ayahuasca (also known as hoasca)
is a visionary tea that serves as the sacrament of the UDV
religion. In May 1999, US Customs agents seized several bottles
of ayahuasca imported from Brazil for use by members of UDV's
US Branch headquartered in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

May Be Novel Class of Anti-Lymphoma Agents
NEW YORK (Reuters)
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannibinol (THC), the major component of marijuana,
and other cannabinoids induce apoptosis in murine tumors of
immune origin, according to researchers at Virginia Commonwealth
University in Richmond.
Like other immune cells, cancers of the immune system express
a cannabinoid receptor known as CB2, Dr. Mitzi Nagarkatti explained
in an interview with Reuters Health. Compounds that bind CB2
receptors selectively induce apoptosis in these cancer cells,
she said. Moreover, "compounds that interact with CB2 will
not exhibit psychotropic effects." In vivo experiments
confirmed the effect of THC. Ten days after mice were injected
with lymphoma cells, cells collected from animals treated with
the highest dose of THC showed 77.3% apoptosis. Two weeks of
THC treatment cured 25% of lymphoma-bearing mice.

I ve known English people take Much X Mo'than other
country, however "Deep Gasho",,, This 10yrs
old girl died in OD after she took 5 pills on the last
month in Lancashire, this was a pretty surprise for
me !?!
Recently The price of Ecstacy Pills in UK is down only
to $2-7/pill. Low teens can buy many&easy now but
5 pills for 10 years old Gal is a lil too many, aha
?
I m quite interested in How the Trans-techono Family
in GOA or BYLON Bay carry the Drugs with Thier Young
Children.
