OCTOBER
24th 2002
Much to my surprise, since there are no natural pollinators for this plant
here, earlier this year I found she had developed a fruit or rather drupe.
So have been watching the fruit which turned golden yellow almost overnight
at one point. Drupe was still developing but I could see from the attaching
stem that the time was soon. Judging by the crappy weather, figured rather
than run the risk of loosing this fruit, which I suspect got pollinated
by the wind, I would remove and deal with it. Let the fruit rest for 2
days and saw that it started to dry a bit so I opened and planted the
seed.

ps: from what
I understand, these seeds are the "brain texture" type
so this confirms that parent plant is the "real deal": Tabernanthe
iboga. (sp?)
