...if you have noticed recently our world is in uproar, and feel you may not be down with whats going on,
or believe the path being chosen for us by our politicians, economic leaders is unacceptable,
then get your drums out, put your dancing shoes on, rise up your banners, throw some paint on the walls, provide some street theatre, get your photocopies ready, spread some new info and let your imagination spill out onto the streets breaking the monotony, which is what 5000 lovely peoples did on May 1st in London, alongside brothers and sisters from all around the globe involved in the worldwide movement of celebrating MayDay, showing solidarity on issues ranging from anti-capitalism, globalization, anti-war/occupation, fascism, sexism, state power and a celebration of past struggles.
Mayday originated as a pagan festive holy day celebrating the first spring planting and later through history evolving as a working class holiday from the struggle for the eight-hour day in the 1880’s in Chicago. ..
